Moulded Grids

Created using a similar method to the grids designed for necklaces, these moulded designs again spread simple Torchon patterns around interesting curves – in the case of the Nautilus shapes, right round into a spiral.

The threads suitable for this include 40/2 and 16/1 linen, which may be mixed with thicker yarn in the wider spaces. The Nautilus patterns were started along the wide edges, and all continue into the middle, by which time the grid will be considerably squashed.

This page will shortly include scarves designed on flowing grids as well as the basic moulded grids (each of the three nautiluses is slightly different) for you to embellish with your own ideas.
